Beginner Camp Sample Day

Mounting and Dismounting

 

Each camper will learn the proper way to mount and dismount a horse before actually riding.  We will practice on “Rocky” our full size mechanical horse.

 

Basic Position (how to sit and hold the reins)

Rocky will be used to show campers the basic position on a horse in both English and Western riding discipline.

 

Four Natural Aids

Campers will then practice these skills on their real live mount where they will also learn the use of. The hands, voice, legs, weight.

 

Reverses and circles

Very first Trot

Sitting Trot

Trotting Turns, Reverses and Circles with Control
